The autocomplete of my brouser MS Internet Explorer ( Windows XP Home OS ) has been taken over by something called nws.search origninating from 1-se.com.
nws.search doesn't work for important or necessary stuff, but includes a wide range of catagories and links to all sorts of other information, including porn of various types.
Don't get me wrong. If someone wants porn, there's plenty to be found. It's there right. It's their business.
I just want to reset my autocomplete to something that works. I like google, myself, and rid my brouser and/or OS of 1-se.com and nws.search
Has anyone had a similar experience?
Can anyone tell me how to reset my autocomplete and remove 1-se.com and nws.search ?
I run a parasite detector/pop-up blocker but it does not find 1-se or nws.search. Ordinary searches turn up nothing.
It bothers me that someone can mess with my brouser like this, in effect taking it over, and I can't figure out out to elliminate the problem.
Please install and run hijackthis and post a log and we'll tell you how to fix it.
