I want to be able to open multiple Word document in one Word window, like it was some years ago. For example, open two excel workbooks, and notice how both workbooks open in the same excel window, with only one excel row of Menus and Icons. That is what I want to do in Word: open multiple documents in the same Word window, showing only one set of Word Menus and Icons. Anyone?
Re: Open Multiple Word Documents in One Word Window?
I looked and looked but can't find any such setting...
Oh well, welcome to A2K.
You can
open your microsoft word. Select file open and the file(s) you want to open. The select window arrange all and voila there they are.
That doesn't do what 9874563 is asking about (at least not on Word 2000).
9874563 wants a "tabbed" interface and what you said just tiled the windows with extra windows remaining on the task bar.
Sorry I did not read the workbook part of his request thoroughly. This however, is the closest way I can find to achieve what you want. I have not seen a version where you can set up workbooks in a Word document. However by following my instructions you will have one row of Menus and Icons.
Office 2000 doesnt provide this functionality. Even Excel spreadsheets and power point presentations open in different windows like word.
Nah, Excel spreadsheets can be "tabbed".
Tools > Options > View > check/uncheck "Windows in Taskbar"
Thanks !!! Given the amount of excel sheets I have open at any time - my task bar looks like a series of green dots !
