I've realized a lot of the web dev jobs I'm interested in ask for samples of work.

I think my 'Blog is a good site but may not be appropiate for many jobs.

I've had a few ideas for a "Safer" site that I want to bounce off you folks:

1. A page for my HS Alma Mater's sports teams.

2. An alumni page for my HS graduating class.

3. A page devoted to my College Alma Mater's 4 National Championship football teams.

(Do you see a theme here:))

Neo,

I don't think the blog's a good example of design (not because of the content but because of the design itself), so the others are probably better.

Craven:

The "HS Sports Site" seems to be the "clubhouse leader".

As for the 'blog. I keep trying to find a design that works, and hope that once I can "unhook" the page from blogspot, I can do more.

I'd hope it would be interactive.

People tend to be VERY passionate about thier Alma Mater!
