Ok, so there's "friendly", "amistoso" and....?
Anyone else have some local variations to add?
croatian: prijateljske utakmice (friendly - prijateljske, utakmice - matches)
Freundschaftsspiel (German)
At the younger level they're known as "recreationals", while the non-friendlies are "competitive".
Friendly matches (British English)
In baseball, they're called "exhibition games."
Juegos amistosos, en espaƱol.
Partite amichevoli, in italiano.

Yeah, or pre-season games.
Thing is, I was looking for Football (soccer) ones and if you happen to know what it's usually called in the US league I'd be interested (do they use the British terms?)
gioco di amicizia (spanish)
"Scrimmage" is generally used to refer to a non-competitive game.
