Inspired by a banner ad on the side of A2K. I held mine for 60 seconds on the first try. Not too bad for an old fart who hasn't been practicing.
I don't know why is that, and I hope that someone smart will explane, but I can held my breath around 50-60 seconds on surface, but much more under water...
I think when I was swimming regularily I could reach about a minute. On land, I just don't see the point. Oxygen rocks.
There really was a banner ad asking how long I could hold my breath. It was a link to a gaming site (you like challenges?), so I was denied access here at work to that site. So, I just decided to play the game all by myself! I'm turning blue now, now purple...
I barely dive through 30m under the water.
Here goes:
about 70 seconds.
In water, though, I'd be dead in about 15 seconds.
I never was able to learn to swim very well. I would always end up swallowing a lot of water.
You should try swimming in the ocean. Unpredictable water motion + salt water = a very unpleasant experience.
doglover, You need to get outdoors more often and get some excercise. Swimming is also good.

Look down...what do you see?
Are they edible? LOL BTW, your excercise regimen is very good; keep it up.
what site
What site was this "game" on, do you know? I'm trying to find it because apparently some site tells kids to tie a rope around your neck then hold your breath to see how long you can go.
Is there a site such as this any have encountered?
Long Can You Hold Your Breath?
I held my breath 2:02, first try. Any challengers? Open competition.
I walked 27 miles last week. Not doing as well this week. Two days gone, and I've only walked 4.91 miles. I'm trying to average 3 miles a day.
How about running 45 miles a week, instead of just walking?
