Afriend of mine is having a computer problem. Her computer keeps shutting down on it's own and then not restarting again for quite some time later. She thinks it may be a virus. Do you have any solutions to this problem?
Since Craven said I was "dangerous" for telling another A2Ker how I handled a comuter problem, and the result I got, I'm gonna keep my mouth shut!
I said that the steps you took were dangerous CI, not you. You were posting an action that opens up computers to viruses and exploits. But if you think you have advice to give here, by all means do so.
sufp,
You will have to be much more specific about the problem. There are many many things that can cause what you describe.
Are there any error messages?

Yeah C.I., ya really gotta stop telling 'em to drive around the railway crossing guard gates...
This could be a virus, it could be lots of things. Does the fan work? Is it clogged with dust? How about the inside of the machine? Sometimes a careful but thorough vacuuming can help. If the machine is overtemping it will shut down and not restart for some time.
.. Or is the battery good?
