@izzythepush,
And yet I wake up to cnn telling me that I am correct....

Not that me being right is unusual or anything.

@hawkeye10,
You're far from being correct, it looks like the co-pilot did it but the co pilot has not been linked to any terrorist organisation.

If Al Qaida or ISIS were behind this they'd be telling everyone how successful they were.

@izzythepush,
With as strong as the German terrorism incubator has been?

I love how the germans assure us that this was suicide, after they tell us that he passed his psychological evails with flying colors.

We shall see.

@hawkeye10,
The prosecutor has said there's no indication of terrorism. And there are other flights that would be more appropriate targets. We will see, but what won't happen is that you'll ever admit to being wrong over this.

@izzythepush,
Have they found any evidence of suicide? I am busy this morning but the two minutes I looked I did not see any.

Thus " no evidence of terrorism" is government spin. You can if course understand why they are sensitive on that subject.

@izzythepush,
Izzy, correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't one of the big winds here recently mock a few posters for discussing possible hazards of Craigslist. He ridiculed women in particular because they aren't smart enough or strong enough to protect themselves and that's why men rule the world. So, if that true, and it must be because the bondage guy and CNN are in agreement, I'm going to cower in the basement while the menfolk join up with mr. Hot Airbag and do SOMETHING for Christsake to keep the womenfolk and children safe.

DW is reporting that this airline does some of the best pilot psychological testing in the industry, which points away from suicide.

@hawkeye10,
If official statements disagree with the pronouncements of Chicken Little they have to be government spin. Your ego is enormous, and it's in inverse proportion to your intelligence.

Does it, he was 28, well within the age range when paranoid schizophrenia starts to manifest itself. He could well have been fine when tested, but not later, not to mention bereavement breakup of relationship or another significant event that could throw one's world upside down like being diagnosed with HIV.

It has since emerged that the 28-year-old was forced to postpone his pilot training in 2008 because of mental health problems, with a friend saying he was 'in depression.'

Careful. You've got a conservative here, faced with facts, that don't support his world view. That's a dangerous combination.

The co-pilot suspected of deliberately crashing a Germanwings airliner into the French Alps hid details of an illness, German prosecutors say.

Torn-up sick notes were found in the homes of Andreas Lubitz, they say, including one for the day of the crash, which killed 150 passengers and crew.

The illness was not named, amid reports Mr Lubitz had mental health problems.

Lufthansa, which owns Germanwings, has announced new rules to ensure pilots are never left alone in the cockpit.

Data from the voice recorder suggests Mr Lubitz purposely started an eight-minute descent into the mountains while keeping the pilot locked out of the flight deck.

There were no survivors when Flight 4U 9525 crashed in a remote mountain valley on Tuesday while en route from Barcelona in Spain to Duesseldorf in Germany.

Internal aviation authority documents quoted by German media suggest the co-pilot suffered depression and required ongoing assessment.

Prosecutors say there was no evidence of a political or religious motive for his actions and no suicide note has been found.

Must at least be a part of a plane. They finally stopped alerting us every time they pull a piece of garbage out.

The damage appears to be mostly on the trailing edge of the Flaperon (a combined flap and aileron) but it is only deployed for landing and seems to indicate someone was trying to land the plane .

It also could have automatically deployed due to an electronic fault, but then the plane would have had reduced speed for the trip, whereas it is believed to have had higher fuel burn than normal due to a higher than normal speed . Of course it would also burn more fuel if its flaperon deployed early and the damage was a result of being deployed at a higher than designed speed .

It may have been damaged by a high speed crash into the ocean by contacting the fuselage as the wings broke off, so it would be interesting to see if there is any fuselage paint on the damaged parts and what the fractures indicate as to how the metal tore .

None of this goes to explaining what went wrong to cause it to go off course in the first place .
