@ossobuco,
The High Desert Doggies are in the line up now.
Next - to worry about the draft, which is coming on fast, March 21st.
Luckily I already have a draft concerns scratch sheet on my desktop, filled with gibberish.

@ossobuco,
Okay! Osso is in.
As I understand it, any one interested in joining can pm me with their email address. I can then forward the email from Yahoo that has the link that has the "join league" button.
Cumbersome but the best that we do for now.
The draft is set for 3/21. Plenty of time.

Good morning!
I see that we have gotten a few more players. Somehow, I have two teams. I haven't figured out how to delete one.
I see that Rhys set up the scoring categories but they appear to be minimalist:
Batting: Runs, Home Runs, RBI's, Stolen Bases, Batting Average
Pitching: Wins, Saves, Strike Outs, ERA, WHIP
Any suggestions?

@realjohnboy,
To use the same as last year's categories?

@ossobuco,
I suspect that we will end up choosing last year's scoring categories. Still, I suggest that we examine alternatives. We should come to a conclusion by, say, 3/14.
BATTING OPTIONS: At Bats, Hits, Doubles, Triples, Home Runs, Runs Scored,
Runs Batted In, Walks, (Strike Outs), Stolen Bases, (Caught Stealing), On Base %
{if that is an option}. There may be others.
My preference is to put more emphasis on the guys who play hard every day and less on the sluggers.
I admit that I don't know much about baseball. I defer to those of you that do.

BATTING OPTIONS:
At Bats, Too dependent on outside forces, days off, injury, etc
Hits, yes
Doubles,yes
Triples, too rare to be much more then fluke stat
Home Runs, Yes
Runs Scored, Yes
Runs Batted In, Yes
Walks, ...how do you score walks? iffy, but ok.
(Strike Outs), Yes
Stolen Bases, Yes
(Caught Stealing), Yes
On Base %Not sure how you score that either, but I'd vote no.

Thanks, McGentrix.
We should perhaps add Batting Average.
PITCHING CATEGORIES:
Innings Pitched
Wins
(Losses)
Complete Games
Shutouts
Strike Outs
(Walks)
Holds
Saves
(Blown Saves)
ERA
WHIP

Any other suggestions for BATTING or PITCHING?

Just tell Rhys which one to delete. He'll take care of it.

@realjohnboy,
Johnboy, I think you missed George's message to tell Rhys which team you don't want.. (there are still two listed).

@McGentrix,
I sent an email to Rhys. He has changed the settings based mostly on the suggestions by McGentrix.
He also deleted my duplicate team.
Waiting on Fbaezer who has indicated his intent to play.
No word from Tico, though.

Thanks to RJB and Rhys, my team Mister Mxyzptlk has joined.
Don't ask me to spell my team's name again.

I just practiced picking players by doing a mock draft in Yahoo. I got a bit more familiar with some of the new talent and the draft ratings. I'm still lacking with my NL exposure to teams and players as I follow AL mostly since I was a weee baseball fan. I hope to balance my roster a bit better this year so I can lose the same as last yr (next-to-last) but lose with more awareness.

Are we set to 10 or 12? I don't remember noticing.

I nevah pay attention to what team is in what league. Not in football either. Never have, too late to start now. Must be missing a league type synapse.
