Sometimes if I've been away from the computer for a while, I'll come and hit "refresh" on my posts page. Then have a look at the most recently updated thread, hit back, only to go to the first page, before it was refreshed. It seems to happen in the afternoon here. Is it the forum or my browser? Doesn't do it on any other sites.

It's the broswer cache.

Is there any way to change it, fix it, stop it from happening?

Try going to Tools > Options

Then under "Temporary Internet Files" click "settings" and then check to see what is selected under "Check for newer versions of stored pages".

Also try clearing your cache to see if that resolves it.

It was set on "automatically". I've changed it to "every visit". I'll report what happens.

Doh, wilso after reading your thread more carefully I see the problem.

It's your use of the back button. The back button frequenty pulls from cache, if you want a fresh version of the page don't use it.

No, I'm not looking for a fresh version of the page.
This is the story. It's on the "your posts" page. I've been away from the computer say for 30 minutes. I refresh that page, and it's now up to date. I go into a thread and read the latest post/s. Go "back", and now it's on the page I was on before I clicked refresh. I haven't had a chance to test with the new options yet.

If you are using the back button, that can happen such is the nature of the back button.
