Hi I am running win98 se on a compaq 7360. I see that I have 256, color 16 bit, and 32 bit color which is the best to use? also is it wise to move the display up from 800x600. say too 1026x768?
I am so New to this stuff any advise is appreciated!!
onnie,
Those display choices are mainly a matter of taste. Making the resolution higher will mean everything is smaller on the screen (and more will fit on the screen).
Try it and see what you like best. I prefer high resolutions.
As to the colours that is hard to notice but the higher you go the more resources it will use.
I recommend either the 16 bit or 32 bit.
what are they?
I want to thank you, I need to know what the 16 and 32 are about if you can explaine it? I kept my display on 800x600 I like it better plus 2 any advise??
16 bit and 32 bit are just different amounts of colours. 32 bit has "rich" color in comparison to 16 but you might not notice the difference.
16bit colour has 65,536 different colours.
32 bit colour is actually a misnomer as it's really 24 bit colour plus 8 bits of black. They add the bits together which is cheating.
24/32 bit colour is true colour or colour as your eye perceives it with 16.7 million colours.
