VERY moving...don't worry about the spelling and grammar, that's what editors are for Smile. I had a grandfather who was a field medic in WWII. Feel free to check out his memoirs here: http://www.able2know.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=7047

I believe 'And the Band Played Waltzing Matilda' was originally written and performed by Eric Bogle, an amazing songwriter. I love the Pogues version though, and that is the one that I heard first.

I can't even imagine living in a war-torn country.
