New Czech Radar for China?

Jane's Defense Weekly reported already last year that the Czech Republic's radar company ERA has been negotiating an agreement with China's People's Liberation Army for export of VERA-E passive signals intelligence (SIGINT) systems. The VERA-E will allow the PLA to "detect, locate, identify and track air, ground, and naval targets," said an ERA official. The system uses techniques that allow it to process signals emitted by airborne, ground and naval radar systems; jamming devices; secondary surveillance radar/'identification friend or foe transponders, tactical air navigation/ distance-measuring equipment interrogators; as well as data links and other pulse emitters. VERA-E can also be used as a 3-D air-defense radar.

According to the Czech newspaper PRAVO today (the article is only in Czech - besides in the German magazine SPIEGEL, I didn't find any other report) Václav Klaus, who is visiting China these days, might have talks with China about selling/getting this system.
