I've read that the rhino beetle (nickname Hercules beetle) can lift 850x their weight. At 3 ounces, that would equate to 159lbs, which seems inconceivable. I can't imagine a beetle lifting a large dog. Can someone verify?

The paper written in Berkeley, California stated this scarab could lift 30 times it's weight not 850.

If you want to know if it is possible for the beetle, dog situation..
You should get yourself as mentioned beetle then place a dog on top of the beetle to see if the beetle will lift the dog off of itself. the beetle.
