I have just noticed that Facebook follows my internet activity even when I am logged out. I say this because while logged out I searched a product and the next time I logged on the product popped up in an ad on my Facebook page. How do they do that when I'm not logged in to Facebook and how can I stop that? Do they have a cookie on my computer I can remove?

Likely the answer is yes. You can remove it but I believe its going to keep installing on your computer every time you log on. It's the way Facebook keeps its services free. That's their monetary strategy. Targeted marketing.

@parados,
Excellent article thank you. Only reservation is that I use IE and I don't see instructions for that browser.
