Holy Moley, Phoenix - a thousand posts! (and more)

The trouble with this is: When you smile, people won't wonder what you've been up to; we KNOW what you've been up to!!!

Margo- I have a sneaking suspicion that "what I've been up to", has elicited my husband's new nickname for me, "Square Butt!" Very Happy

danon5 - you may be thinking of Pat Paulsen, who ran on the Stag Party. I'd've voted for him; he was a pretty silly dude. Current politics seems to be missing that kind of stuff, unless you count Jesse Ventura.

That's the one jespah, thanks!
He was the man. Probably would have made as good a pres as any.
(Thinking to myself that our system of Checks and Balances extends to the office of the president too. At least one would like to think that.)

New members, schmembers
Happy to be invited to this fountain of High spirits and deep thoughts (sadly missed in that Other forum in the end). Many thanks to akaRoger for sending me the invitation! It was the mention of jespah that made me come over! Have also seen some of the old pack! I'm thrilled!

Humble Greetings from Germany

bigdice67, WELCOME TO A2K. BTW, had to mention a somewhat interesting trivia about my cruise trip to South America (returned home on Monday, Nov 25). There were many Germans on the ship, so I asked one gentleman why so many Germans were on board this cruise. I thought it was because Chile has many German immigrants, but that wasn't the case. It seems Celebrity Cruise Line advertises on the internet in Germany. The gent told me he was a sea captain, and traveled all around the world, but never went around Cape Horn. He said he wanted to do the cape before his demise. Very Happy c.i.

re: Celebrity Cruise/Germany:

those cruises are advertised here by all major tour operators at average prices - which means, they are cheaper than most European cruises.

Well, you know what they say 'bout them old germans
1) They work the fewest hours (avg. 36,5hrs/week)
2) They have the most vacation days ( avg. 30days/year)
3)Quit working the earliest(avg. retirement age 60,5, my guess)

As a poor foreigner working my little behind off, I say, let them cruise!

Germans!
Hi there!
I'm new - and I guess I have to stand up for the Germans first. I have never been on a cruise - I work more than 36,5 hours a week - and BigDice67 knows that Very Happy

Now I have to check out this whole forum. Have fun!
