@dianajohn,
There's a special store about thirty miles away, called Long and Dangly.

The comfort their garments offer is worth the drive.

@dianajohn,
Macy's, trust me, I'm not buying from any cheap ass underwear site you or one of your friends post.

Thrift shops are good for this. Simply bring along a pail of bleach and a garden hose and a traveler's clotheslineand clothespins. Any bedbugs you catch can be salted and grilled with a tad of hot sauce.*

*kidding - at least some thrift stores watch out for bedbugs, and tend not to sell used underwear.

An old lady pushing a shopping cart, slightly south of downtown, sells them two for a quarter. A buck keeps my ass covered nicely.

@edgarblythe,
Good for her.
Have you talked with her?

@ossobuco,
She told me she wants to be a ballerina with the Houston arts people. She pranced away on her toes, pushing the heavy cart before her.

@dianajohn,
I hear Japan has vending machines that sell used underwear. Might make a great vacation destination.

Macy 's in NY, for BVD cotton briefs and V necked T shirts,
but the idea was to get a good quantity of them,
so as to last a long time, obviating re-supply for a several years.

That also applies to long black identical (fungible) cotton sox.

That 's dangerous; painfully dangerous.

@OmSigDAVID,
My socks are also identical. So I lose one. Then I've got a spare sock. Lose another and all is right with the world. Strangely, socks are the one garment in which I avoid cotton.

@OmSigDAVID,
It holds moisture. Takes too long for sweat to dry.

Now, for cold weather, I take cotton over all the wonder fabrics, but not for socks. They act as advertised and wick moisture away. That moisture evaporates and chills the body.

@roger,
I see; I have not found that to be the case.
Admittedly, I was not on the alert for it.
