Printer Trouble Reprise...

Reply Sun 11 Apr, 2004 02:39 am
My printer quit working a few days ago. I've tried the recommended measures, but it doesn't help. However, it will print it's test page properly when running a printer check. Something else, the spooler exe file does not seem to be working. Nothing happens when it's clicked.

So I figure, either the spooler exe file is so damaged that it won't allow a software re-install, or ,maybe, the printer cable is bad.

Would a bad parallel cable cause the spooler file to malfunction?

Thanks!

Why not just stick to one thread? It's quite unlikely that you'd have problems with your spooler merely because of a bad cable, but printer errors are sometimes erratic.

Have you followed all the suggestions given in the other topic you started (eg. creating a new folder & setting it as your default spool folder)?
