While having bruch, we saw the bay bridge disappear when the fog rolled in, then clear up. It turned out to be a very nice day.

Yeah, but, but, but, those on the other side twinkled just a few minutes later.

Twinkles were well dispersed on the whole. Though, I gotta say, this is a funny picture/O.

Some famous patrons inbibed in this bar, and somebody said they used this facade in a movie.

Mrs. CI gets lots of ribbons for bravery in the face of effulgent pontification. She has a sense of self that can withstand barrages like us and become one of us right away... why, because she was open to and accepted us. Big hugs to her from all of us there.

Mrs. Pdid did that in a different way, though credentials weren't asked for, we'd welcome disagreers, with a speech, as I remember, that we all agreed with (I think), and we just blinked at her, pleased. Well, that was her cue and she kept going, being herself throughout, and I so hope she and hub have a fine time at a key baseball game tomorrow.... Bonds may break the tie....

not to divert, but yah, as diverse as we are, the group melded.

Let me warn that this may not happen every time. I myself have had a travel trip not all so long ago when I wanted to excise my travel pal from the planet.

But in this case there was a basic thoughtfulness afoot. For example some were single and some not. The tables worked out that the singles weren't embarrassed.
There weren't really cemented cliques, we all got to talk over the weekend. It was really way past high school.

that was me changing film in a handy Palace chair in my old fashioned and somewhat duct-taped camera (a nikon 70, but the little plastic thing that holds the batteries in is broken).
CI, that pic in the Hyatt is really really good. You should print/blow that one up...

On going home -

After leaving San Francisco in a prop plane, altitude is gained only to be lost a short time later...

we downshift through clouds for what must be miles to emerge with the redwood forest at our feet and then edge o'er the ocean, lowering, lowering and banking, and then planing down the steps, past Trinidad head, past waves and waves, past the first trees and first houses, more houses, lower and lower, to the field.

It isn't San Francisco, where I wish I had a pied a terre, whatever you call it, but it is home now, beautiful land, and gadzooks, 56 degrees on landing.

Those wonderful photos are making me homesick. There is no place quite as lovely as the Bay Area.

I'll get most of my pictures back tomorrow (3 out of 4 rolls).
Cross all a2k fingers re m'scanner activation (may be as simple as plugging it directly into the Imac ucb port in place of the printer... stay tuned.) Otherwise, I'll have to scan and post them at work. Hiss.

Thank you for a most entertaining word picture and some stunning photos, all of you! Love Osso's throne! But you should have a corgi at your feet as befits royalty where I come from!
