Here I am in San Francisco.

It's a little after six a.m.

Last night we had the first meeting of the 'San Francisco Gathering'.

I got to meet and talk with Mr. an Mrs. Cicerone Imposter, Diane and Dyslexia, Mr and Mrs PDiddie, Lola, Ossobuco, and Blatham.

We had a delightful time
(and more to come before we strike our tents!)

Afterwards, as I took the 'Muni' back to my brothers house
I thought of what I might say on the San Francisco thread.

About what a great bunch of people they are,
and what a delight and privilege to know them.

Knowing that other A2kers have been reading the thread
I thought about how to describe them -the thoughtfulness of
C.I. and PDiddie, the charm and wit of Dyslexia and Diane,
the hard work and enthusiasm of Ossobuco in bringing this about
etc etc.

But I ALSO keep thinking that this wonderful collection of people is just
a subset of our whole A2K community.

In my mind (and in our conversations last night ) I marvel at 'This thing of ours', this A2K.

It is so special. What would I do without it?

What would I do without YOU?

I guess that's why I woke up at 6am with this song running through my head.

jjeorge, sigh Cool Your reaction reminds me of mine during the Albuquerque gathering last April.

jjorge can you give Mr. and Mrs. PD huge hugs for me. You will like hugging Mrs. PD that is for sure.

I would love to meet some A2K posters. I live in Maryland. Are there ever A2K gatherings on the East Coast?

There are lots doglover. One next week in Cocoa Beach, FL, I am sure that you could use a break from MD weather in a place like that. You will find the posting in the North America topics.

In July and August I will be going to Amherst and will probably stay a bit with friends in Silver Spring are you near there?

That was moving jjorge. I find myself thinking often that I feel regretful that I can't do enough for A2K, sadly it's the truth, but working from home does give me better access and more time than if I worked in a restaurant, with no access to a computer. I have to agree, we have a community here, not just a board.

Wow! I'm about 45 minutes to an hour from Silver Spring! I would love to get together this summer.

I've been to Cocoa Beach...it's beautiful! I have a friend in St. Petersburg, but due to work constraints, I can't attend. Crying or Very sad

Aren't they the lucky ones. I was planning to go but then my real life intervened, sheesh. But I would have been odd person out since I would have been staying in Berzerkley any way.

jjorge I did not know you were from Diego, did I?

Okie Dokie doglover - I am planning to be in Silver Spring probably the first part of August or end of July. We will definitely have to get together for lunch or dinner.

When do we get to see some pictures?
