Techno problem

Hope someone can help and I know other people have had this problem. Suddenly every time I log onto youtube or facebook, to try and play a video a message comes on unable to play video download the latest version of flashplayer. I do that and go back in and it says the same thing. I uninstall and try again .. no luck. Then I decided to download Google Chrome because it said Adobe flashplayer would be downloaded with Google chrome. Still no luck. Does anybody have any suggestions. Driving me nuts. Thanks in advance.
