Come to think of it the two board personalities could very well come from the same mold and both are uncannily alike in tone; I would not dismiss your subtle instinct too lightly.

That's always the case. Irrational people are the first ones to throw accusations that their so-called critic is "insane." Have you ever noticed that some ill-mannered persons are often the first to refer to others as retarded, when often in reality, the accuser is the retarded one? Possibly coldjoint is suffering from a psychotic disturbance and in such case it's best to not waste energy responding. Of course this is just a mere suggestion.

Then you tell me why Cruz is garbage. And then tell me how that website of the community organizer is doing.

Cruz is supposedly a very bright guy. Now let's look at the manipulative things he's done for himself that have nothing to do with helping the country.

He talked for 21 hours on the Senate floor to an empty chamber. The only purpose was to promote Ted Cruz. It wasn't an actual filibuster to stop legislation. It may have played well to sycophants but was meaningless in reality.

It appears Cruz wanted the government shut down and yet claims he wants to reduce the deficit. The government shut down hurt the economy which in turn hurts government revenues which in turn increases the deficit.

Cruz was willing to push the House to try to get them to go past the debt limit deadline. Any realistic person knows that failure by the government to pay any obligation would be seen as a default. A default would raise borrowing costs and increase US deficits.

If you would actually care to discuss Ted Cruz instead of name calling we can discuss the 3 issues I listed above. Otherwise, you can keep proving you can't think for yourself.

First the shutdown showed the bloat and waste in so many agencies. What was it 90% of the EPA is non-essential?

Second the default crap was just another scare tactic from a dishonest and corrupt administration. And the media made sure it was pounded home.

Getting anything even close to the truth from Obama is a pipe dream.

Let's define "essential" as used in the shutdown.
Essential employees are those that are required to immediately protect life and property.

The Department of Transportation is not "essential" under that definition but long term if we had no roads it would do major damage to the economy.

The EPA doesn't have a short term protection effect but they do have a long term effect on life and property.

I see. So can you explain how the government is to meet all it's obligations if revenues are less than expenditures and they can't borrow money? That means you need to use real numbers coldjoint, not your slogans that have no meaning in the real world.

@parados,
Only the interest on the debt has to be paid. Your argument is full of hyperbole and just plain bullshit.

@coldjoint,
I don't think you know much about finance in the real world. Your credit card company can jack up your interest rate if they see you aren't paying your electric bill. All obligations are considered when loaning money. They don't just consider some of them. Banks consider all things on your credit report, not just whether you pay off that bank on time or not.

Answer this one honestly: If a business owner came to you to borrow money and you knew he wasn't paying his employees on time, would that make you think twice about loaning him money? Would you consider it the same risk as a business owner that was paying his employees on time?

By the way, the credit rating companies have said it is you that is full of bullshit. Fitch has issued a warning. S&P already downgraded the US credit rating. Credit ratings play a large part in who can buy the debt. Many funds require that they only buy AAA bonds. If the US loses it's AAA rating it will lose access to billions of dollars from potential buyers. Based on their investing philosophy those funds may also have to dump any existing US treasuries driving up interest rates on the market.

Now would you care to explain your position in anything other than a simple minded statement that doesn't reflect reality?

That's funny. Do you have any other comedy you want to insert or are you ready to hold an adult conversation with adult issues?

@coldjoint,
Let's go back you inability to understand the meaning of "essential" in the case of the shutdown.

Are you willing to admit that you didn't know the meaning? Are you now willing to revise your statements about the EPA not being "essential".

Or should we just chalk that post from you as being an example of you using the equivocation fallacy.

It's been my impression whenever a hairsplitter pops up, interjecting, overly critical regarding a mis-spelled word or the grammatical structure of a sentence, we will find a very insecure individual. Persons lacking in self-confidence find a certain amount of solace attacking others from a punitive level, regardless how infinitesimal the error.

@parados,
Do you have a reason that the administration with the help of the biased media and the DOJ, IRS, and even the EPA have tried to silence( and have done very well) and demonize conservatives?

They must have some good ideas. And would be able to prove it if the where in adequate and open debate.
