Now that you mention it, I recall a dog about to be put away when the child helpfully pointed out that if you pull his whiskers, he will bite you.

Not to be unsympathetic, but yes, more information would help.

How big is the dog? How bad was the bite? Did the dog get out unsupervised? I need to hear more details.

What was the kid doing? Kids I know who have been bitten by dogs were usually doing something they shouldn't have been doing.

I've seen some kids faces I'd like to bite.

Not only that but putting down an animal should be the last resort and doing such things as re-homing the animal into a home without children would come first.
