I'm looking for a "free" website to check the credentials and disciplinary actions of doctors and dentists. Is there one out there?
Thanks

You can go to the Boards of Registration in your state, for medical doctors and dentists. They list the credentials and the legal actions there.

There are several such sites in this list (among many unrelated ones): http://search.able2know.com/Health/index.html

nbooker, in addition to what can be found on the internet, you can also look up all pertinent info on doctors at your public library. There is a new book published each year for all licensed doctors in your state.

See if this helps:

Link to to info on malpractice

In my state, there is a database on doctors. There was a doctor that I was checking. I found that he had had a judgment against him. I then went to a site in my state where you can order a complete report for just a few dollars. I got the whole scoop on this guy.

Miller, you just ask the librarian for the annual book of licensed doctors and their C.V,s. Each state's book will have its own title. The State's medical association may publish it.

@Phoenix32890,
Dear phoenix32890 I have read your email .I am a partial amputee because of a doctors neglect.I have met other people he has injured and one includes another amputee.Iknow in my heart that this doctor has been repramended in the past somewhere and I am still digging to get the information.I have a lawyer because I am now in lawsuit over my injury.I am doing this research separatly from my lawyer.What database in your state did you go to?What is the name of the database?Maybe my state has one too.Thanks so much.

@sweetypie78,
The link Phoenix posted is still active, and the site it leads to contains some useful links. Not all are free. I would pay more attention to disciplinary actions than lawsuits files. As they say, "Some lawyers will try anything".

Since you have engages a lawyer, though, you probably won't need to do anything, except to satisfy curiosity. If the lawyer is at all familiar with malpractice, he should have this information at his fingertips.
