In Excel: seperating numbers to get only the first three

I need to take the first three numbers of a five number sequence and send just those three to a seperate column in the same worksheet. Does anyone know if that is possible, and how to do it?

i.e. cell A1 says 36092 and I need cell B1 to contain 360

I would do it by hand but there are just way too many.

Thanks
