Looking forward to seeing At World's End this Friday. Simon Pegg and Edgar Wright are comic gods! Very Happy

Riddick (2013) could be the last great action movie of Summer 2013. Hoping David Twohy is back in good form.

@tsarstepan,
cannot stand Vin Diesel.

Have to admit that Sean of the Dead is one of my guilty pleasures. whereas Hot Fuzz I found boring as hell

@farmerman,
I see Vin Diesel as hit or miss (mostly misses) but I think he's like Keanu Reeves in The Matrix, a perfect fit for the Riddick character role.

Today was Mo's last day of summer break so we ended our movie going summer with "The World's End".

It wasn't as funny as "Shawn of the Dead" but it was still pretty hilarious.

I forgot to add "Elysium" to my earlier list. I thought it was just okay. Boat rocker Mo liked it's "theme of rebellion" and enjoyed it much more than I did.

No. I haven't seen it yet. I'll wait until it comes out on DVD and grab a copy from the NYPL.

@farmerman,
My sister and I saw Mud in a theater in Vancouver back in June.
We loved it.
Alas, it's not something that will be recognized as a blockbuster Summer movie

Went to see THE MORTAL INSTRUMENTS: CITY OF BONES yesterday, very surprised it's not more popular, sort like Harry Potter on steroids I thought. Not usually into horror type movies but this was not much like that so I'm very happy.

@Ragman,
Since you can't take your money with you after you die then you have to spend your money somewhere or lose it all in the end.

Movies are my crack cocaine. ((shrugs))

@tsarstepan,
Not intending any judging or criticism. I wish I could attend movies more...like maybe once every other week. Only about 25% of the movies interest me enough to read their reviews.

@Ragman,
Seeing a good movie at a top notch theater is priceless to me.
There are many movies I just wait for on PPV.

@panzade,
Yeah. I personally loved Avatar ..the first movie 3D (and ThX sound) which I saw in the theater. I can't imagine how much better it'd have been in IMAX.

OTOH, it wasn't nearly as enjoyable experiencing it at home on a reg HD screen and a decent sound system.

Some movies HAVE to be experienced in theater for full impact.
