I am getting a message advising me my disk space is full. I have done all the things that Microsoft 7 suggest, such as clean disk , defrag, run crap cleaner etc to no avail. I have a HP Probook 4540s.
When running the defrag programme I noticed a large number of unmovable segments that have not been evident before and no "free space" at all
As a virtual computer illiterate, can some one suggest a very simple way to overcome this problem.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
@Butain,
Have you got Norton or McAfee? I suggest you run a virus scan. I bet you've got malware sucking up all the available memory.
Also - if you've got photos, etc. on the hard drive, old emails and whatnot, do some judicious weeding. Buy a thumb drive or even a separate drive and offload as much of that as you don't need for day to day operations. I think you'll find that you no longer need that email from 2008, know what I mean?
