HELP..... I need to know how to simplify the entry of time (xx:xx) into an Excell spreadsheet. I would like to be able to just enter the numbers and the colon be already there. I know this possible, I just can't figure it out.

1 - select the cells you want to be effected
2 - select MENU, select CELLS
3 - click on NUMBER tab
4 - select 'TIME'
5 - select the format you'd like the "time" to appear in.

apparently, you have to type the " : ", excell does not provide it.

this is DIRECTLY from the excell 'help' files.

Times To enter a time based on the 12-hour clock, type a space and then a or p after the time; for example, 9:00 p. Otherwise, Microsoft Excel enters the time as AM. To enter the current time, press CTRL+SHIFT+: (colon).

I tried, i can't see a way, other than the way excell gives, to have the " : " already be in the cell.

maybe someone else knows a way.

I can't find a way that makes the colon unecessary.
