Quiet rage.

I am livid
Flecks of rage fly from my bitten lips.
Then- especially then- I recall I do not have recourse.
I do what I can, reach and snap away the voice by remote control.

She said, "The Administration said all the appropriate things.
They have no need to apologize for the job they are doing All things are in place. When they have said how outraged they are for the horrible things that are happening, and promised the families that these atrocities are not going to deter us from moving ahead... then we have said the appropriate things. We are doing our job."

I have to hold my throat to retain my bodily contents.
How can I be so enraged by what I cannot change?
Ulcer builders. I must come to the computer, leave the television
And all the spinning politics.

Little teens dance and rant in the streets, protesting what they do not even know!
How sad were the days of the clashes with Vietcong,
and all the dying... the cursing.... the hate.
How I hoped as it began to end- they built the wall.
People cried. People healed, and covered the scars. And now--
I feel ripped all open again .
I just can't watch the crying.
I wonder if I will live through the dying.
