Hi Edgar. Little Richard, great stuff. First really came across him in the movie "The Girl Can't Help It". Did I prefer the music or Jayne Mansfield ?

Deep Purple did a number called "Smoke on the Water". Real event, where did it happen ?

In Geneva, Frank Zappa's set was burning after some mishap...

What was the first and original title of "Yesterday", that Paul McCartney later changed into... Yesterday?

Recorded by an American lady in 1968
Recorded by a Brit blues/rock singer in 1972

Something told me it was over
When I saw you and her talkin'
Something deep down in my soul said, 'Cry, girl'
When I saw you and that girl walkin' around

Whoo, whoo, I was just, I was just, I was just
Sittin here thinkin', of your kiss and your warm embrace, yeah
When the reflection in the glass that I held to my lips now, baby
Revealed the tears that was on my face, yeah

"I'd Rather Go Blind" recorded by Etta James and Rod Stewart (The Faces), respectively.

=============

Okay, what musical Wunderkind has a son who was an 11th round draft pick for the Florida Marlins and had the 2nd-ever video played on MTV. (Bonus points for the name of the song/video and why the video was itself a first.)

I'm going to ask another question, but I'm not sure if trespasser will's question has been answered......

New Question.....

here's the lyrics.....

I'm just mad about Saffron
Saffron's mad about me
I'm just mad about Saffron
She's just mad about me

They call me _____ _____.
(Quite rightly)

I'm just mad about Fourteen
Fourteen's mad about me
I'm just mad about Fourteen
She's just mad about me

They call me _____ _____.
(Quite rightly)

Born high forever to fly
Wind velocity nil
Wanna high forever to fly
If you want your cup our fill

Electrical banana
Is gonna be a sudden craze
Electrical banana
Is bound to be the very next phase

They call it _____ _____.
(Quite rightly)

.......name that tune.......

Hi there P & L. That radio show you mentioned was pretty cool. I'll have to listen to it next week.

The song you listed.

Mellow Yellow by Donovan. One of those strange 60s songs

Who did "Hurdey Gurdey Man"

Hi OaK..... that show, "Prairie Home Companion" has been airing for many many years now.... Garrison Keillor has a number of books out, too, based on the fictitious town of "Lake Wobegon". I like the funky "down home" atmosphere of the show. He invites some good musicians to be on his show, that aren't always the 'big star' names. He used to do little sketches called "Guy Noir, Private Eye". They were great!! For a short time, they video-taped the show, and you could see the 'sound effects' people. That was really fascinating!! Next week, he's broadcasting live from "The Grand Ole Opry" in Nashville.

Yes, "Mellow Yellow" is the correct answer!!!

answer to:
"Hurdy Gurdy Man".... Donovan

New Question

here's the lyrics.......

I'm just beginning to see, now I'm on my way
It doesn't matter to me, chasing the clouds away
Something calls to me
The trees are drawing me near, I've got to find out why
Those gentle voices I hear, explain it all with a sigh

I'm looking at myself reflections of my mind
It's just the kind of day to leave myself behind
So gently swaying through the fairyland of love
If you'll just come with me you'll see the beauty of ____.

I'm just beginning to see, now I'm on my way
It doesn't matter to me, chasing the clouds away
Something calls to me
The trees are drawing me near, I've got to find out why
Those gentle voices I hear, explain it all with a sigh

.......name that tune.......

Well, Saturday night he was up on stage, just 5 rows from where I was sitting! Very Happy

Okay, how about another clue...

Here's a snippet from the song from the video from the artist in question:

Quote:
If you're bleeding,
Then everyone can see you're bleeding
They can call for the doctor,
Who'll provide what the diagnosis says you're needing
Then he'll take away your pain
But if your heart,
Your heart has been broken
And you don't wear it on your sleeve
No one can tell,
Your hell goes unspoken
But there's one thing you must believe...

No.

Here are a few more hints:

He has been, at various times; a runt, a wizard/a true star, faithful, and a hermit.
