Tod Rungren?

Ding! Yes, Todd Rundgren.

The song was "Time Heals". Todd actually built one of the first computer graphics studios, then used it to create the first ever video that overlayed live action and CGI for this video. Todd has actually racked up quite a few firsts in his long and twisted career, and he's not done yet.

Oh, and his son Rex plays for the Marlins, though according to Todd he may be being sent down to the Greensboro, NC "Bats", one of their AAA farm teams.

Hi bigdice.....

Fascinating Question!!!!

Here's what I found.....

At the beginning of YYZ, the rhythm played is that of "YYZ" done in Morse Code. YYZ is the code of Toronto International Airport, which is Rush's home town -- where they traditionally open and close their tours.

The Morse code is used to identify the VOR at the Toronto Airport. VOR's are beacons that are all over the world. They are at some airports and pilots fly to them while en route to their destinations. The pilots have to identify the signals with the Morse code. In this case YYZ. Members of Rush actually have their pilot's license and that is how they became aware of YYZ.

In American Morse Code, the rhythm would go ".. .. .. .. ... ." but as we all know, they used International Morse Code, where the rhythm is "-.-- -.-- --.." which is very obviously the song.

New Question.....

here's the lyrics.....

Christopher Robin I walked along
With the branches right up to the moon
Posing more questions to Owl and Eeyore
As our days disappear all to soon
But I wandered much further today than I should
And I can't find my way to the three acre wood
So help me if you can I've got to get
Back to the house at the corner by one
You'd be surprised there's so much to be done
Count all the bees in the hive
Chase all the clouds from the sky
Back to the days of Christopher Robin and Pooh

Winnie the pooh doesn't know what to do
Got a honey jar stuck on his nose
He came to me asking help and advice
And from here noone knows where he goes
So I sent him to ask of the owl if he's there
How to loosen a jar from the nose of a bear
So help me if you can I've got to get
Back to the house at the corner by one
You'd be surprised there's so much to be done
Count all the bees in the hive
Chase all the clouds from the sky
Back to the days of Christopher Robin
Back to the ways of Christopher Robin
Back to the days of Pooh

.......name that tune.......

P&L - I hope you also realized that my name is a Pooh reference. (Click my name in my signature for a sound file that explains the name if you are not familiar with it.)

Okay, new question...

Here are some lyrics:

Quote:
I think I see a valley
Covered with bones in blue
All the brave soldiers that cannot get older
Been asking after you

Hear the past a' calling
From Armageddon's side
When everyone's talking and no one
Is listening
How can we decide?

Title? Artist? (Extra points for telling us what it is about.)

Daylight again by Stephen Stills

It is both an epitaph and a longing for extinction, for "Armageddon's side" and "a valley covered with bones."

Q: Who sang this ?

The sweat, look at it, Optical promise
Heh, heh, heh, You'll be dead and in hell
Before I'm born, Sure thing
Brides maid, The only solution
Isn't it amazing?

Hi will..... thanks for the guide to the wav, for "trespassers will"..... what a great way to backup your A2K nickname!!....

Hi hiama..... Don't Worry!! You didn't 'hold up the show'.... this forum is very casual..... Anyone can jump in with a question..... Which I'm going to do now!!!!!

New Question......

here's the lyrics......

If I can reach the stars,
Pull one down for you,
Shine it on my heart
So you could see the truth:

That this love I have inside
Is everything it seems.
But for now I find
It's only in my dreams.

And I can _____ ___ _____,
I will be the sunlight in your universe.
You would think my love was really something good,
Baby if I could _____ ___ _____.

And if I could be king,
Even for a day,
I'd take you as my queen;
I'd have it no other way.

And our love would rule
This kingdom we had made.
Till then I'd be a fool,
Wishing for the day...

That I can _____ ___ _____,

.......name that tune.......

"Come down in Time" by Elton John, "Tumbleweed Connection"

Name the author, and the book that inspired Rush while writing and recording "2112"
