New Question.....

here's the lyrics.....

There's a young man that I know,
His age is twenty-one,
Comes from down in southern Colorado,
Just out of the service,
And he's looking for his fun,

.......name that tune.......

(I used my Judy Collins Songbook tonight for all the lyrics that I typed.)

Very Happy

"Suzanne" was written by Leonard Cohen

(that was in my Judy Collins Songbook, too! Thanks, edgar!)

New Question.....

here's the lyrics.....

(I'm switching songbooks...)

Oh, when I die, don't bury me at all,
Place my bones in alcohol,
And at my feet, place a white snow dove,
To tell the world that I died for love.

.......name that tune.......

<yawning... g'night, all...>

That's RAKE AND RAMBLING BOY, probably from a Joan Baez songbook. I'm not sure that the original author is known.

What name does Hank Williams' grandson record under?

Cohen somehow ended up without a copyright on Suzanne. It's the lead song on his first album (made in 1968); therefore the first song I heard from him. I recall buying the album just because the jacket made it look interesting. I had no notion who he was or where he came from.

Go ahead, Mikey. The answer to my last question, by the way, was Hank Williams III.

Hi edgar......

"Last Kiss".... covered by Pearl Jam (a local band, here in Washington State)

I thought Pearl Jam did a pretty good job with that song. It really showed off Eddie Vedder's singing range.

The song is fast by J Frank and slow by Eddie. I like them both.

Oh, Cool...... "Masters of War" is a good song...

You might say that I'm young
You might say I'm unlearned
But there's one thing I know
Though I'm younger than you
Even Jesus would never
Forgive what you do

.....great song.....

New Question.....

here's the lyrics.....

(this is a more recent Dylan tune)

Knockin' on the door, I say 'who is it, where you from?'
Man say 'Freddie', I say 'Freddie who?'
He say 'Freddie or not, here I come'
___ ___, 'neath the stars that shine
Washin' them dishes, feedin' them swine.

.......name that tune.......
