Hi edgar --
I'm sorry I missed the Bob Dylan question!! I had to stay off-line because we found a lost puppy, put a sign up, and were waiting for someone to call..... finally got a call and reunited puppy and her mommy.... everyone was happy..... our dogs are exhausted from playing with a puppy all afternoon!!
answer to your question.....
"Old Paint" by Woody Guthrie
:-)
I decided to not wait long for answers tonight to keep from getting bogged down.
oops.... JoeNation already answered....
:-)
New Question.....
here's the lyrics.....
Though I know that evening's empire has returned into sand,
Vanished from my hand,
Left me blindly here to stand but still not sleeping,
My weariness amazes me, I'm branded on my feet,
I have no one to meet,
And the ancient empty street's too dead for dreaming.
.......name that tune.......

Mr Tamberine Man by the great Bobby Dylan Zimmerman, off the album BRINGING IT ALL BACK HOME
My warehouse eyes my Arabian drums
Sad-eyed lady of the lowlands,
Where the sad-eyed prophet says that no man comes,
My warehouse eyes, my Arabian drums,
Should I leave them by your gate,
Or, sad-eyed lady, should I wait?
"Sad-Eyed Lady Of The Lowlands".... off the Blonde On Blonde album
Way To Go, Mikey!!!!
:-)
bout time i got one right, jeeesh,,,,,,my turn right?
easy one
Hurtling westward through the prairie night
Under the spell of motion
Your eyes were clear and bright in the dashboard light
Dreaming of the western ocean
The dusty towns left far behind
Mountains drawing ever nearer
Your face was then as it was tonight
Ever young
Ever clearer
I believe the song is Night Drive, written about singer Stan Rogers. I have not found out who the artist is.
Hi Mikey....
"Night Drive" (Yellowhead Highway)... by Garnet Rogers
("...But this road and I, We remember....")
:-)

P&L got Garnet Rogers' name first.
New Question.....
here's the lyrics.....
In Tulsa town we chanced to stray,
We thought we'd try to work one day,
The boss said he had room for one,
Says my old pal, "We'd rather bum!"
.......name that tune.......
