Okay, I'll agree with sealpoet that I married my wife, and a judge didn't do it.

But I stand behind the rest of my post. It's how I feel, and if it ever comes up for a vote in Kansas, it's how I will vote.

I voted other, and here is why.
Who cares what it is called, would I love my wife less if it is a “civil union”
Is a wife going to love her husband more if they are married?
Either way marriage (or civil union) should be an agreement between two people to put up with each other, for the rest of there lives.

I voted for "No". Marriage is a part of our society. The word has a cultural meaning and many of the legal rights (i.e. inheritance and medical decisions) come from this cultural understanding.

I don't like the word "Civil Unions".

Marriage should be open to homosexual and heterosexual couples alike.

Changing the word strikes me as silly.
