Francis Ford Coppola directed and it starred Val Kilmer and Bruce Dern.

Tooling around Pay-For -View and came across this movie. I like Coppola and Kilmer and Dern and the short preview seemed interesting, so I rented it.

Huge mistake!

One of the worst movies I have ever seen.

Don't waste your time on it.

@Finn dAbuzz,
Thanks Ill block it on our Nflix que. The best Val Kilmer movies I saw were
1Comanche Moon (a prequel to Lonesome Dove)
2Wyatt Earp (the one where he plays Doc Halladay)
3Pollock
where he has a bit part as Willem de Kooning

I take it you didn't see "Top Secret"?

@Ticomaya,
I WILL have to seek out and view Top Secret, purely for scientific inquiry mind you.

@Ticomaya,
OOPS, I noticed that Doc Halladay is a soon to be ex-highly paid- pitcher for the Phillies. Doc Holiday was Wyatt Earp's consumptive gun-slinging friend

@farmerman,
Agreed.

He was pretty good in The Saint too.

My favorite performance, by far, was Doc Holiday in Tombstone.

After a little post-viewing research I found that some of the great lines like "You're a Daisy if you do” were actually attributable to the real gunslinger.

As much as I loved the scene where he squares off with Johnny Ringo, it’s questionable as to whether or not that ever happened.

At the time Ringo died, Holiday was in the vicinity and so it’s certainly possible that he killed the Cowboy gunslinger, but Ringo died from a bullet wound that entered his temple and it’s thought that his death was a suicide.

Still Doc’s lines in the movie were priceless.

“Why Johnny Ringo, you look like somebody just walked over your grave.”

“Say when”

“You’re no daisy! You’re no daisy at all. Poor soul, you were just too high strung.”

“It would appear that the strain was more than he could bear.”

Excellent performances by most of the cast as well, and the writing was just great.

It was just about a perfect movie.
