I know how to change the icons on my desktop. What I don't know is how use my own created icons and put them on my desktop as the programs icon. Could anyone help me or lead me to a place (link) that could help me?
Here are a couple sites with icons you can download or copy-and-paste

With an image manipulation app that will let you set the size in pixels of a given image an let you save it in the .ico format, you can turn any image into an icon.
IRFANVIEW is one such app, and its a small footprint, simple-to-use freebie with no scumware attached.
To actually apply the icon to a program shortcut once you've made a .ico file:
- Right-click a shortcut & click Properties
- On the Shortcut tab, click the Change Icon button
- Click Browse and find the icon you want to use, within a .ico, .exe or .dll
Ok...I think I will go download one of those programs and see what I can conjure up out of it haha. I used Paint Shop Pro 7 to make the images that I wanted to use for icons on my desktop. And there are a few .gif files on the internet I would like to have as icons. So thank you for the links...I'll get back with you as soon as I can figure all of it out.
I have to edit in here that your link didn't show up correctly. I did however figure out what it was. Jsut as a heads up
