@FBM,
Quote:

That's pretty close, but not quite the same as religious thinking. Included in V62.89 Religious or Spiritual Problem is loss of faith. The entry that I'm suggesting is that faith itself is the problem.

That's an idea you have way too much faith in... :-)

Why is this even an argument? There's more evidence Jesus existed than Any other historical figure of our time. The problem isn't did he exist. The problem is how we deal with his existence.

You seem to want to discuss things...and it appears from the comment you wrote that prompted my first remark...that you do not know enough about the "evidence for the existence of Jesus" to have a fruitful discussion.

So I thought I would move on to something a bit easier.

That's total bullshit. What evidence there is, is suspect.

There's far more evidence to support the existence of any number of historical figures like:
Julius Caesar
Augustus Caesar
Herod
Cleopatra
Mark Anthony
Pliny the elder
Pliny the younger
Alexander the great
Hannibal.

The list goes on and on, and Jesus ain't on it.

@izzythepush,
To start with, don't we count the years from the birth of Christ?

Frank doesn't do that, but if he did he could point out that your sentence is grammatically incorrect. It should be You're baiting me, yes? Although putting yes at the end of a question is rather lowbrow.

It's not surprising you have difficulty with simple 5 letter words, but your lack of education should give you pause. Stop pontificating, it's based on ignorance and indoctrination. Read the thread, read a bloody book, get an education, and then you might be able to join the debate.

@izzythepush,
And you forgot Robin Hood. Plenty of evidence of him too.

@Josie Burness,
Izzy is right, you know.

Your comment, "There's more evidence Jesus existed than Any other historical figure of our time"...is absurd.

If you enter a discussion like this with a start like that...the kindest thing to do is to change the subject...as I did.

@Josie Burness,
No. We don't. If Christ existed most scholars put his birth at 4BC.

Anyway all that proves is the power of the church, not whether or not he actually existed.

@izzythepush,
Sorry for my grammatical error. I am on an iPad with autocorrect. Gets me into all sorts of trouble. No need for insults.

@Josie Burness,
So that's your answer, because there's a question mark over the existence of Robin Hood, Christ must have existed.

Go back to the playground, you might actually win an argument there.

@Josie Burness,
I'm pointing out that if you can't spot such a basic error, you're hardly equipped to discuss anything academic.

Read the thread, most of what you're saying has been dealt with previously.

You saying so doesn't make it a fact. Read the thread.

@izzythepush,
I have read the thread and I posted my view. Is that not ok? Is that not what we are allowed to do here? You did not like my view, that is your right. Not a problem. Sorry about the Robin Hood dig 😀
