what is this insect

it lives in the ground, its orangish, has stripes on its back like a bee, and looks like a giant ant.. around these parts it is called a mothernature bug, i wish to know the real name of this insect. if you need any more information, email me at [email protected]

When you say "around these parts"... where do you live? Without seeing a photograph we need to know the approximate habitat of the insect.

Do you have any photo's? That would be the biggest help.
