It is amazing but occasionally I am able to logically string together the words people write and find coherency in what they are writing. Laughing

. . . . The point is that God, by allowing the rebellion to continue, whatever the rationalizations may be, is condoning/ allowing/ consenting to the Devil's rule over the world. . . .
Condoning, no. It implies approval.
Allowing, yes. After the fact.
Consenting, no. It implies prior assent, as in the case of Job.

Sorry you have such a problem with words.

You seem to be very dishonest in your replies at times. You remind me of an old friend named Ryan.

Do you think that it is possible for there to be so called Christians who get off on spinning the truth? Kind of a philosophical word game for them?

@neologist,
So, how is it that the Devil is ruling the world if not by God's consent?

Is it OK if I twist it up a bit?

Do you think you may be related to Christian Wolff?

@reasoning logic,
He's not quite as ugly as I.
But, philisophically, I feel as if I am more closely related to Newton - in my own insignificant way.

I know I'm not actually an active part of this exchange, but would you mind expanding on that a little? I'm not seeing the similarity.

There really is not much in common. I just thought that Neologist should get some credit too from the church as did Wolff. He was a Baron of the Holy Roman Empire. He was a very smart man and had a reason for everything. It is amazing what Natural theology can teach you. lol

Smart guy yes, but on theology Newton eventually went on a whacky tangent trying to find some mathematical formula that revealed the secret meaning in the bible. Never went anywhere.
