Hey there. I'm new to the site. Any other F1 fans around here? Most of the people who live here think Formula 1 is a soft drink.

Questions:
When will Ferrari break?
When will McLaren rebound?
Will Scott Dixon end up at Williams next year (or sooner)?
Does anyone miss Villenueve?
Will Sato catch on?
Is BAR for real this year?
How can the cars be slowed (as the drivers have mentioned they would like to see)?
Is the global enhancement of the series good, even at the cost of European races?
Should F1 kick it's tobacco habit?
Have you ever seen a picture of Bernie E. that didn't make him look like an old, wrinkled codger?

Talk to me.

BigDice misses Villeneuve!

I do feel kinda sorry for Raikkönen and Coulthard. But then again - I am German and I drive an Alfa Romeo. Go, Michael!

Although he denies it, Montoya has to be worried about McLaren's performance (or lack thereof). Maybe he figures they'll have it all figured out by next year.

Kimi has it pretty bad, but I doubt Coulthard will ever get a shot at a championship again. That's too bad - he seems to be a decent fellow. And my mom likes him Smile Must be the chin.

Being from America and driving a Chevrolet, I don't have much to relate to any of the teams. I did work HP for a while, and, even though I was very glad to get out of there, I still pull for the Williams team.

There's a lot of talk over here about how badly they need to get an American driver into F1. I really don't feel that way - although I do cheer for the guys that I'm most familiar with (Montoya, DaMatta). I'd much rather see drivers that got there on merit rather than where they are from (or how much sponsorship money they can secure).

I just wish someone could step up and take on Ferrari. I have the utmost respect for Michael Schumacher, but I get tired of seeing anyone win all the time. That being said, I'm sure I'll tell my grandkids someday about watching him when he was at his peak. You just have to wonder how long it can last.

How about this Bruni guy? He's smoking Baumgartner (no surprise) and he came across as pretty smart in an interview I saw with him. Any real potential there? I assume that he brought money to team, no?

About Michael Schumacher - yes, the races are pretty boring. It's not his fault, of course, that the others just cannot catch up. But what I usually do is watch the first couple of rounds, see that Schumi is well ahead again, settle down for some sleep on the sofa and wake up in time for the finish.

At least M. Schumacher still looks like he's having fun. I think his vertical leap is actually getting higher.

Despite the Ferrari runaway, there is still a great battle amongst the rest of the teams. It's nice to see some new blood (Button) on the podium.

I'd like to see Toyota step it up and get into the battle for second best. I miss McNish though - oh yeah, I got to see him win at Sebring this year.

So, here's my first lame suggestion to slow the cars down a wee bit. Make the front and rear wings single-element only. Get rid of the barge-boards and any other 'appendages'. Might not slow them down much, but it would get back to a cleaner, more aesthetic look. Only problem is, this will only affect cornering speeds. How do you slow them down on the straights?

C'mon! There have to be some F1 fans here somewhere! I keep ending up in the 'Politics' room and it just gets me riled up. I really need something less meaningful to talk about.

Last year it was fun.
This year it ain't, once more.
And I root for Ferrari.

Well, might be, he becomes a second John Surtees (the only man to win the world championship on two wheels and four until now).

I occasionally watch F1, but the lack of competition tends to make it boring. But I still believe the guys of the MotoGP are the real men of motor racing.
