It is pretty sad what happened to that guy Matt Clement...He was just becoming a rising star with the Marlins, right around the second time they won...He may have been a year after...I honesty do not remember...
Then he got traded to Boston, as I am sure you remember, and we can see in that photo...He got hit in the head with a line drive in (I want to say) '05 or '06...and then he never came back, and just left the game...
The same thing, or a similar thing happened to that rising Japanese pitcher...His name was Kazuhisa Ishii...I think he had probably the greatest breaking ball I have ever seen...I would legitimately say it was better than Barry Zito's back in the day...he was playing for the Mets, right around the same time I think Clement got hit...I want to say Ishii was in '06...and he got hit in the head with a liner, had a huge welt on his head...was laying on the mound, and he was bleeding he was hit so hard...then he just left the game...
But he may have gone back over in Japan...I am not sure...
