[quote]..15 Republican senators to Obama: Withdraw Hagel

By Olivier Knox, Yahoo! News | The Ticket – 1 hr 29 mins ago.. .

Republican Chuck Hagel testifies before the Senate Armed Services Committee on Jan. 31, 2103. (J. Scott Applew …Fifteen Republican senators, including potential 2016 presidential contender Marco Rubio, urged President Barack Obama in a letter released on Thursday to withdraw Chuck Hagel's nomination as defense secretary.

“While we respect Senator Hagel’s honorable military service, in the interest of national security, we respectfully request that you withdraw his nomination,” the lawmakers, led by Republican Sen. John Cornyn of Texas, wrote in the letter.

The White House last week denounced Senate Republicans’ unprecedented filibuster of the Hagel nomination (no Cabinet-level post dealing with national security had ever before faced that stalling tactic). In the letter, the lawmakers argued in effect that this was the Republican former senator's own fault.

The GOP has become the biggest handicap for our country by insisting on changing the president's pick for Secretary of Defense - for the first time in American history.

They don't care about our defense department lacking a leader to make their point. As with the sequester, they are the biggest handicap for our government to operate - even creating new handicaps for this president.

Their demand for "no new taxes" has become so ridiculous that they prefer to damage our economy where the rich will lose billions (more than the amount they would have paid in the increase in their taxes) in their investments rather than increase their taxes by 3%.

Who are these people? They are robots who have lost any sense of governance to push their agenda no matter what the cost to Americans.

What's their goal? Ruin this country.

@RABEL222,
Yea, the sequester was the bargain that the GOP demanded to approve the debt ceiling in 2011. This is also a "new" from the GOP that's never happened to republican presidents - approve the debt ceiling. They set up this blackmail to cut expenses, and they are going to destroy our economy - or more likely almost 60,000 lives who will lose their jobs or their hours cut.

The consequence of all this is that the stock market doesn't like this, and it's been reflected in the markets the past couple of days, and it's bound to get worse as March 1st approaches with no deal - with the GOP demanding "no new taxes."

This is almost humorous if it wasn't so stupid! By this blackmail, the rich they're trying to protect from a 3% increase in their taxes will end up losing billions in market value of their investments.

I wonder if they have spoken up yet, or are they waiting for the sequster to take place?

They're all masochists. They want all Americans to suffer.
