I had very large MOV files (Apple Super Res 422 format). These were recorded at a live event and the video person transferred them onto an external hard drive. The raw video was about 200 GB for about 2 1/2 hours of air time. I had to compress them to a lower resolution AVI format to fit a 4.7GB DVD. What’s your suggestion?

@emily3936,
Hello,

If you have some MOV files that you want to compress to smaller file sizes without compromising on video quality, you can convert from MOV to DivX. DivX is a video file type that is known for its small size, compared with other video formats, and the high quality that it manages to retain despite being compressed. You can convert MOV to DivX with the Any Video Converter quickly and easily.

1.Download and install the Any Video Converter from its website (see Resources). This is freeware, so you will not have to pay for it.
2.Launch Any Video Converter on your computer. Click "Add Video" from the toolbar to select the MOV files for conversion.
3.Locate the "Profile" drop-down on the upper-right side. Click it to select DivX as your output format.
4.Locate the "Output Folder" icon on the lower-left corner. Click this to select the destination for the new DivX files once they are created.
5.Click the "Encode" button on the toolbar to start the MOV-to-DivX conversion. The "Status" column will update the progress of each file. Once all files have converted, a pop-up will appear to let you know that it has finished. Click "OK," and you can use the new compressed DivX files.

Best Regards
Duncan Jones
