Searching for a high-school movie

I think it's from the 90'. I remember that the teachers in the movie were very tough, and that the students were talking with admiration about a legendary former student of the school who did a serious stunt in his time, and they (the students) tried to contact him, to learn who he was, and to remake what he did, or something. By the way, it's not "Dirty Deeds" (2005), it's older than that.
