What shade is this hair color on the 1-10 scale?

I want to dye my hair this color, and I plan to use box dye. But in order to do that, I need to decide which shade the color is on a scale of 1-10 (1 being blackest black, 10 being lightest blonde). I'm thinking 7 or 8, but I'd really like a second opinion. I plan to use L'oreal Paris Excellence Creme if you even want to go so far as to tell me which shade I should use out of that specific brand.

7, Dark Blonde, definately.

However, I wouldn't use Loreal Excellence Creme, I'd go with Loreal Feria 73.

Feria is just superior in my experience. Plus I think it's closer in color....

The BIG question is....what color is your hair now? That'll make a big difference. It's not going to automatically be like the picture on the box.

Right now, my hair is closest to a 6G, light golden brown. Should I lighten it first?

If you're talking about lightening it, now you're getting into the realm of a professional only.

Box colors only deposit color in/on your hair.

You do NOT want to venture into lightening your own hair if you've never even used a box.

Go ahead and just use the box kit. They are specifically designed so that there will not be some dreadful mistake. It's a safe way to go, especially since your own current color is not that different.
