Here's a film that could have knocked "Gigli" off the worst-flicks lists: Michael Jackson wanted to star in a movie about a man who turns into a car that's driven around by a little boy.

The singer ?- who's facing child molestation charges ?- was trying to get a film called "Hot Rod" made, according to "Jersey Girl" director Kevin Smith.

"It was about Michael Jackson morphing into a car," "Smith tells Playboy magazine in an issue just hitting newsstands. "Jackson was behind it, and he wanted it to be this story about a guy, played by himself, who hangs out with a little boy, and this little boy gets into the car and drives him around."

Smith says it was the weirdest script he ever was asked to direct, but adds, "In retrospect, I'd love to make that movie. But it wouldn't be anything like the version Jackson or the studio wanted to see."

Good grief, Cav. It'll probably be a box office hit!

Saw where emnem has made a movie just playing himself. Think I'll wait til the book comes out.

I saw the Eminem movie and it wasn't as horrible as I thought it would be, and I'm not really a fan. Now if Michael Jackson did make this movie, that's just plain wrong giving his circumstances at the moment.

Cav, when my husband and I were in advertising, we discovered that there was no such thing as right or wrong, nor bad publicity.

Odd, too, because I was just discussing with the Oak man, on his thread about Eric Clapton, concerning background and the impact that it has on performance and writing.

Thanks Letty. I knew most of the facts behind his story, but 3 bottles of vodka a day? Shocked Jeez Louise...

You did get me thinking about publicity though. I have heard for years that there is no such thing as bad publicity, but I do think there are certain things the public just won't support. For example, posession of child pornography has done nothing for the careers of Gary Glitter or R. Kelly, and I don't think the pedophilia charges against Michael Jackson will help his already flagging career. Who knows how many people would have actually gone to see this movie, had it been made, but I think a lot of people would just be horrified at the whole concept of some young boy riding Michael Jackson all around town.

Clapton was at least selling records during his entire career. I can't say the same for Jackson. He is in hock to Sony for millions.

Well, Cav, honey. The only thing that really makes my blood come to a curdling screech halt is attacks on children. And I wouldn't see that Jackson movie, anyway.
