any newscast, the newscasters are bad enough, but often in Canada, this jackass makes his presence known

@Region Philbis,
Yes Izzy! Jerry is indeed a bastard! I always wanted Tom to catch that ratty mouse.

RP? Oddly, I don't find Sheldon Cooper obnoxious. Neutral

Watched about 10 minutes of the premiere of The Following last night. It has two stars whom I like very much, Kevin Bacon and James Purefoy (who, among other roles, was an excellent, Mark Antony, in Rome.)

This is a loser with many zero's after it.

Obviously it is going for blood and gore...no matter what the cost...a poor man's Hannibal Lecter.

Every character is apparently going to be obnoxious.

@wandeljw,
The Bachelor has, hands down, the most annoying "characters" on TV and the only people I know who watch it regularly are women. I'm sure it has it's male audience, but equally sure the majority of watchers are women. It's not because they like annoying people are buy any of the BS going on but because they love to gossip (there, I said it!) and the show gives them a bunch to gossip about without risking hard feelings.

Just listen to women talk about the show.

Some excellent examples, but they tend to be reality shows, which says something about the genre and it's popularity.

I don't think I could watch any show with truly annoying or obnoxious "characters" regularly.

Just found a great British series with characters I suspect many (like my wife) would consider at best annoying and at worst reprehensible: Misfits.

I've just started on the third season via Hulu and was devastated to find that Nathan, the most "obnoxious" character on the show left. His replacement Rudy is a pretty obnoxious too, but just not Nathan, one of my all time favorite TV characters.
