What's "ignore button"

Ignore is a feature here and at several upscale and downscale and non-scaled websites.
On this site you easily access it by click click clicking on a member name and it brings you to a page where on the right hand side you will see options:

Follow User
Send Message
Ignore User

By clicking on the Ignore User you will eliminate their drivel from cluttering your screens...unless somebody else who you don't have on ignore decides to quote them.

Later on if you decide you no longer detest said user/member or their blatherings, you can click on Unignore User and their posts will reappear.


As to tags, people add them for a whole host of reasons, why spend so much energy on that in these your declining hours?

That's really a good q, Stur. At 82, truly declining, I often ask myself, why in hell do I spend so much time here when I could be reading the paper or doing yardwork

But then I presume the entry is by someone who for some reason doesn't like me, and that he's registering his feelings by means of the tag. He's saying in effect, "See how smart I am rejecting this fellow's OP and you probably won't like him either and so you too may benefit as I have by registering him at 'ignore.' " Positively brilliant
