I was reading about organic computers when I was a little kid...I loved sci fi for a while.

Nobody thought of slime moulds, though!

I remember Harry Harrison's West Of Eden - that had a race whose technology was biological. I do wonder what, if anything, will usurp silicon, or even solid state computing tech. Neural networks, quantum computers, hybrid biological chips, optical computing, blah blah blah.

I just sit in the stands and read about the players from my scorecard.
