Now I'm not, turns out that the USA won't let me because 43 years ago I got involved in a fight in a pub which resulted one guy having 6 stitches in his head and me getting 6 months in jail.

Strange the god almighty USA are not so f*****g choosey when they want a favour from us. Evil or Very Mad

I accidentally broke a kids jaw once back in the 8th grade and they didn’t deport me so I guess the USA isn’t all that bad. Razz

Why don't you talk to an attorney about this? It seems to me that after 43 years of good behavior you should be able to come to the U.S.

I filled in the USA visa waiver form on the net but it doesn't give any room for explanations, it is simply do you have a criminal record yes or no.
As for seeing a lawyer I'm not going to that expense for the sake of a three week holiday, I'll stick with Europe.

I guess the OP is British. The UK Border Agency isn't too keen on admitting American jailbirds either, so it seem about even to me.
