Adjust the settings to where you want them, then press and hold down the Ctrl key and hit the A key while Ctrl is pressed, then more or less simultaneously release both keys. Timing isn't important as long as Ctrl is pressed first and held while A is pressed. ... that should equal "Apply". Now, if you could, does your display settings box look like this (apart from the actual settings)?
If not, what are the differences ... how many tabs up on top, what are they named, and on the settings page itself, how many buttons are shown? On this one, there are 5 tabs across the top: Themes, Desktop, Screensaver, Appearance, and Settings, which is the open tab. Then there's the Screen Resolution "slider" and on the right there's the "Color Quality" box. Below that are two buttons, "Troubleshoot" and "Advanced", then below them, there are three buttons; "OK", Cancel", and "Apply". Is yours the same, ore are there more, fewer, or different tabs, boxes, and buttons?
